Kareena Kapoor Khan Opens Up About Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Incident; Recalls Taimur, Jeh Calling Him ‘Iron Man’

Saif Ali Khan was attacked in February 2025 by an intruder, Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, during a robbery attempt at his home. He fought back and was seriously injured but has now recovered. The attacker is in police custody. Kareena Kapoor Khan, his wife, recently spoke about the incident, saying it deeply affected her mentally and emotionally. She shared that seeing someone in their child’s room was terrifying and caused her anxiety for months.

The Crew actress praised Saif as an “Iron Man” for their sons, Taimur and Jeh, and admitted she still hasn’t fully recovered from the shock of the event. While speaking to Barkha Dutt she revealed, “We are definitely stronger as a unit. I hope that my two boys will grow up being a different kind of resilient because they have kind of seen their father being attacked. My little one still says, ‘My father is Batman and Iron Man. He can take on anyone.’ That’s the way he looks at it. We are definitely stronger as a unit. Kareena believes that the experience has made her children aware of the world as it is, she said, “They have seen blood and everything, but that trauma I somehow feel will make Taimur and Jeh a lot more of a different kind of man. They have also been so sheltered, and then, they have suddenly seen this. Somehow, I feel it’s an experience that has brought them out of that shelter and a little more into reality that this can actually happen. Of course, they shouldn’t have seen it. But I have to look at something out of it that’s going to come, and I am just hoping that’s what is going to come out of it.”

Saif Ali Khan’s Attack Incident

For those unfamiliar with the case, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his Mumbai residence on January 16, around 2 AM. The actor heard noises from his son Jeh’s room, where one of his female employees was being attacked. When he intervened, a fight broke out, and the intruder injured both Saif and the staff member.

Shehzad has been accused of breaking into Saif’s house with the intention of robbery. He allegedly used a wooden weapon and a blade to attack the actor and his employee. Saif was stabbed six times and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, after receiving treatment, he was discharged on January 21. The case remains under investigation while the court reviews Shehzad’s bail application.
