India re-wrote history as they lifted the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup yesterday by defeating New Zealand in a nail-biting final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With more than 120,000 fans physically present in stands to witness the historic moment, the men in blue – led by Suryakumar Yadav, delivered a commanding performance and winning the title for a consecutive time. While millions across the globe celebrate Team India’s win in the T20 World Cup final, several Bollywood celebs took to social media to also congratulate the team and join in the celebration. Bollywood Celebs Celebrate India’s Win At The 2026 T20 World Cup Final

Soon after the finale, Shah Rukh Khan took to X (formerly Twitter) and congratulated Team India. King Khan tweeted, “What a comprehensive victory!! Well done to our men in blue!!! You guys are champions and watching you on the field has made us all very proud. Take a bow. Jai Hind!” On the same platform, Ajay Devgn wrote, “My throat is gone from all the shouting, but my smile isn’t going anywhere all week! #TeamIndia you have made billions of hearts beat with pride tonight! CHAMPIONS once again!”

Amitabh Bachchan too took to X to celebrate India’s win. Big B tweeted, “T 5679 – Kaha tha nahi dekhunga to jeet jayenge ! Ho gaya !” Ayushmann Khurrana also celebrated India’s win by writing, “The Ahmedabad jinx has been broken! The worthy winners have written the history all over again! All three winning captains of T20 World Cup are present today! MSD, Ro and SKY!” Jr NTR also took to the micro blogging site to share his happiness. The ‘RRR’ actor wrote, “This is how our Men in Blue showed up with calm, composure and dominance throughout the tournament … and brought the trophy home again and created history… Congratulations Team India 🇮🇳. The nation will sleep well tonight.”

About The Game

After losing the toss to New Zealand, India piled up a mammoth 255/5 in 20 overs – the highest total ever in a T20 World Cup final. Sanju Samson scored a smashing 89 runs followed by Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan hitting 52 and 54, respectively. This tremendous score put the New Zealand under immense scoreboard pressure which was clearly visible as the Kiwi batsmen struggled to chase the total as India’s bowlers kept things tight. The match ended with India making some records.

For the unversed, this win is historic as it makes India the first team to win a T20 World Cup on home soil and the first to win the tournament twice in a row. (The men in blue won the title during the 2024 edition too.)
