Kartik Aaryan needs no introduction. The actor – who began his acting career in 2011 with Pyaar Ka Punchnama, has since earned immense love and recognition globally with films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Luka Chuppi and Chandu Champion. The actor recently represented India at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.
While representing the country on the global stage, Aaryan interacted with the media and opened up about one of his most love characters – Bhool Bhulaiya’s Rooh Baba and how he initially said no to the horror comedy franchise. Read on to know all he shared.
Kartik Aaryan Initially Said No To Bhool Bhulaiyaa Franchise?
During an interactive session at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Kartik Aaryan revealed that he had initially turned down Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. The ‘Tu Mera Main Teri, Mein Tera Tu Meri’ actor said, “When the film first came to me, there was no story — just a sequel idea. I wasn’t keen. But Bhushan (Kumar) sir convinced me, we worked on it, and everything changed. Today, wherever I go, kids call me Rooh Baba. I’m glad I eventually did it.”
For the unversed, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and its follow-up Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, propelled Kartik to new-found fame. The films emerged as career-defining milestones for the actor, especially as BB2 emerged as one of Bollywood’s biggest theatrical blockbusters post-Covid.
While at the same event, Kartik also posted an internet-breaking selfie with Hollywood icon Johnny Depp. Sharing the picture of the duo chilling together, Aaryan wrote, “Pirates of the Red Sea JackSparrow x RoohBaba”
Kartik’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan is currently gearing up for the release of his next, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. Co-starring Ananya Panday, the rom-com that mainly takes place in Croatia, release on December 25. The narrative follows two individuals whose lives become increasingly intertwined in unexpected ways, blurring the lines between destiny and free will.
Aside from TMMT, MTTM, Kartik will also star in Anurag Basu’s untitled next and Dharma Production’s Naagzilla.
