Katrina Kaif Was Bruised During Dhoom 3 Song Kamli; Choreographer Shakti Mohan Reveals Actress Refused A Body Double

Shakti Mohan has officially dismissed rumours claiming she was Katrina Kaif’s body double in the song Kamli, citing clear differences in their skin tone and height. Katrina Kaif, one of Bollywood’s top actresses, is renowned not only for her acting and screen presence but also for her exceptional dancing skills. From hits like Sheila Ki Jawani to Kaala Chashma, she has consistently captivated audiences with her energetic and precise dance performances, establishing herself as one of the industry’s best dancers.

Shakti Mohan Dismisses Rumours Of Being Katrina Kaif’s Body Double In Dhoom 3’s Kamli Song

One of her most iconic numbers is the high-energy Dhoom 3 track Kamli. Upon its release, the song became a massive hit, with Katrina’s electrifying performance leaving fans in awe. However, even over a decade later, persistent rumours suggest that choreographer Shakti Mohan performed stunts as Katrina’s body double in the song. These speculations first gained traction in 2024 when a clip of the dance went viral, along with claims that Shakti had doubled for Katrina in the stunt sequences. Now, Shakti has addressed these rumours directly.

In an interview with Filmy Gyan, Shakti Mohan clarified, “If I were Katrina’s body double, wouldn’t I have a different skin tone? My skin tone doesn’t match hers, and I’m also shorter in height. How could I be her body double?”

She added, “When Katrina came on set, there was immense pressure on everyone to perform perfectly. I am a professional dancer and have been doing this all my life. Katrina was very dedicated; she didn’t give up. She practised all the steps herself, except for the flips.”

Reflecting on Katrina’s dedication and hard work for the song, Shakti shared, “There were many stunts and steps that a body double could have handled, but Katrina insisted she wanted to do them herself. There was a particularly challenging move—doing the back arch—that she refused to give up on, even though she ended up with bruises all over her body. She is incredibly hardworking. After the shoot, she even sent me a bag to my home along with a very thoughtful note.”

Shakti Reveals Fresh Dancer Was Brought As Body Double

Shakti further explained that a French dancer was brought in specifically to perform the stunts and flips, serving as Katrina’s stunt double for those sequences. “As for the stunt-related rumours and stories people have asked me about—no, I didn’t do those,” she clarified.

Earlier in 2024, when the Kamli video went viral on social media, Shakti had spoken to Mirchi Plus to clear the air, stating that she was not Katrina Kaif’s body double. At that time, she was working as an assistant to choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant.
