Superstar Shah Rukh Khan teamed up once again with Pathaan director Siddharth Anand for a high-octane action thriller titled King. The film is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix. It also marks the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan, SRK’s daughter.
Rani Mukerji And Shah Rukh Khan Reunite For King
Now, reports reveal that Rani Mukerji has also joined the film in a special role. She will be seen in an extended cameo, which will require around five days of shooting. Her addition makes the already impressive cast even more exciting. As per Pinkvilla sources, “It was a no-brainer for Rani to say yes to Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand’s offer for King. She heard the part, and instantly agreed to on board the film. Rani’s track is the heart of King, leading to the emotional depth.”
The source added, “Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan have worked together on films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna among others, and are now all set for a reunion. Rani Mukerji has been cast to play the part of Suhana Khan’s mother, and it’s a role which acts as a catalyst for the entire action-thriller in the film.”
The film’s shoot is set to begin on May 20 in Mumbai. After that, the team will head to Europe for an international schedule. King is expected to be released sometime between October and December 2026.
In the film, Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of a deadly assassin, while Abhishek Bachchan is seen as his rival. The star-studded cast includes Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Suhana Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma. With such a powerful cast and a gripping storyline, King promises to be one of the most-awaited action thrillers of the coming years.
