Shah Rukh Khan-Led King’s Desert Shoot In Dubai Cancelled Amid Ongoing Conflict
Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated film King has encountered an unexpected production challenge. The SRK-led film’s planned desert shoot in Dubai has been cancelled due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia. To maintain safety while preserving the scale of the sequence, the filmmakers are now recreating the desert environment in a studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai.
The Siddharth Anand directorial was initially scheduled to shoot a high-octane desert action sequence in Dubai starting April 9. The Mid-Day reported, “The team had procured the necessary permissions to shoot in the emirate. It was supposed to be a week-long schedule starting April 9. But given the dynamic situation in the region, the makers decided not to take any risk with the cast and crew’s safety.”
Now, the makers plan to shoot the sequence in a Vile Parle studio, where the desert landscape has been meticulously recreated. The report added, “They’ve gone all out to match the scale that Siddharth envisioned for the set piece. In fact, this gives them more control over action beats and lighting. The sequence begins with a chase, resulting in an intense combat.”
