Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ has always grabbed headlines for all the right and wrong reasons. The latest season of the show saw two Indian cricketers Hardik Panday and KL Rahul grace the couch. However, their sexist and misogynist remarks on the show led to outrage amongst the netizens, so much so that their episode was even pulled down from the OTT platform.

Slamming the cricketers for their behaviour on the show, Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) had even suspended them pending an enquiry. Now, BCCI ombudsman DK Jain has fined KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya Rs 20 lakh each. Jain also stated that no further actions will be taken against Hardik and Rahul.

As per the order published on the official BCCI website, the fine which these cricketers have been asked to pay includes a payment of Rs 1 lakh each to “the most deserving widows of ten constables in para-military forces who have lost their lives while on duty, through ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ App”.

The BCCI ombudsman has also instructed the cricketers to deposit Rs 10 lakh each in the fund “created by the Cricket Association for the Blind”. Hardik and Rahul will have to make the payments within four weeks from the date of order i.e April 19.

Post the outrage caused by this particular episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’, even host Karan Johar had taken up the responsibility of everything said by these two cricketers. The filmmaker had even said that Rahul and Hardik have already paid the price of their mistake.

We must say this one coffee at KJo’s show proved to be quite expensive for both these cricketers.
