Ekta-Imtiaz’s ‘Laila Majnu’ gets pushed to September 7- here’s why

Sajid Ali’s directorial ‘Laila Majnu’ featuring Avinash Tiwary and Tripti Dhimri has been delayed. Yes, the film presented by Ekta Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali has been pushed to September 7, much ahead of its original release which was August 24. Imtiaz Ali himself announced the same in an official statement.

He said, “It takes the whole village to raise a child! (African proverb). And it takes a big team to raise a film and bring it to the world. And while I’m excited to show you the trailer for’ Laila Majnu’ ASAP, the wait will be slightly more. My friends in the distribution team urged me to look at releasing the film on the 7th of sept and I see their point that it would be better for ‘Laila Majnu’ to be released on that date. I’ve been told the trailer comes out about 4-5 weeks before the film and not any earlier. So guys. a little longer wait, we shall put the trailer out soon.. Thanks for the overwhelming response on the posters and videos of Laila Majnu, keep sending us your love … love is worth the wait! Laila Majnu to release on 7th Sept.”

To those who have come in late, the trailer of ‘Laila Manju’ was supposed to release today. Nevertheless, we are still looking forward to catching the modern-day story of ‘Laila Majnu’ on-screen.  Also, have a look at the new poster of Ekta-Imtiaz Ali’s venture here:
