Salman Khan has always been that one actor who always supports his industry friends. Several celebs have even come out and praised him. Recently, actor Mahesh Manjrekar spoke highly about him and shared how Salman stood by him during difficult times. He even called him a Devmanus and opened up about their bond.
Mahesh Manjrekar on Salman Khan
In an interview with India Today Digital, Manjrekar said, “One man who would really never ever look like a Devmanus, who I sometimes take for granted is Salman Khan. I don’t mention his name, but he is always there for you.”
He said, “We had never worked together then. But I had some problem, and out of the blue he called me on my landline and said, ‘Don’t worry, everything will be fine.’ It felt like that Marathi saying — ‘Bhiu nako, mi tujhya pathishi aahe’ (Don’t be afraid, I’m right behind you) and he has always been there since then.”
Mahesh Manjrekar and Salman Khan‘s equation is credited to the honesty in their relationship. “I think ‘Dabangg’ was the first film. After that, I did a role in almost all his films. We clicked, and I don’t know why. I’m not part of that clique who always praises him in whatever he does. I’m very honest with him — and sometimes that becomes a problem. But I do it because I really like him. Others aren’t honest; they just want to stay close to him,” Manjrekar shared.
For those unversed, Devmanus, helmed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, also stars Renuka Shahane, Subodh Bhave, and Siddharth Bodke in pivotal roles.
Talking about the actors, they have collaborated on several films, including Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011), and Bodyguard (2011), among others. Mahesh’s daughter Saiee also made her debut alongside Bhaijaan with Dabangg 3.
