Actor Manoj Bajpayee on Tuesday (August 24) filed a criminal defamation complaint in Indore against self-proclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan aka KRK. It is regarding a derogatory tweet that was posted on July 26 by Khan, said Manoj’s lawyer. Reportedly, in a press release, the actor’s lawyer Paresh S Joshi said Manoj personally appeared before the court to record his statement. He filed the criminal complaint in the court of judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) against KRK (46) under IPC section 500 (punishment for defamation). He also urged the court to register a criminal defamation case in the matter.

For the unversed, the derogatory tweet was posted by KRK on July 26, and as per the lawyer, it tarnished the image of The Family Man actor among his fans. In the tweet, KRK had apparently spoken about Manoj Bajpayee’s show, The Family Man Season 2.

Manoj Bajpayee recently won the Best Actor award for his role in The Family Man 2 at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2021. On winning the award, Bajpayee said, “Thank you to all the jury members for honoring me. I must mention – cinema or series – are both highly collaborative. It’s Highly embarrassing for me to take away the award to myself without mentioning everyone involved. Amazon, Raj, and DK, but it’s the writers for the series that make a lot of difference. It’s that team of writers, so thank you to them for giving me the space to become this character. The last time I was at this festival I took the Best Actor award for Gali Guleiyan and I’m grateful to the festival.”

Coming back to KRK, a couple of months ago, Salman Khan had also filed a defamation case against him for his alleged derogatory tweets on Salman’s film Radhe. KRK claimed the complaint was because he gave the film a bad review, the actor’s legal team later clarified that the defamation case was filed due to KRK’s personal attacks against the Tiger 3 actor. A Mumbai civil court restrained Kamaal from posting or publishing any defamatory content about Salman Khan.
