Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh scripted history as he walked the red carpet of MET Gala 2025 on Tuesday. He stole the show by showcasing Indian culture at the red carpet with royal outfit. He didn’t stop there – Diljit grabbed headlines off the red carpet too, as he was spotted having a great time with singer Shakira.

Shakira not only shared warm moments with him but also extended a massive shoutout to India. In the video, while introducing Diljit to her Insta fam, Shakira gave a shoutout to India, saying, “Say hi to India. Hi India”. A shy Diljit responded her with Namaste gesture. The clip also features other celebrities, including Nicole Scherzinger and Tessa Thompson, adding to the star-studded charm.

In one clip, Nicole Scherzinger is seen giving a behind-the-scenes look at how Shakira’s giant gown is being fixed while on the run. In between the same, she notices Diljit using ChatGPT. When she asks him, he humbly says, “I am learning English.”

The Born To Shine singer also shared glimpses of the MET Gala dinner with this gang as he posed for selfies with them. He and Shakira also posed with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas at the MET Gala. In fact, Diljit is among the few invited to dine inside Anna Wintour’s exclusive soirée. According to a report in ETimes, he is the only male Indian celebrity to have a seat at MET Gala 2025.

Diljit Dosanjh MET Gala outfit details

For his debut appearance at the Met Gala, Diljit wore a custom Prabal Gurung outfit. The singer rocked a Maharaja look, which was a nod to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala and proudly showcased his history and culture. He oozed royalty in an ivory neatly-tailored ensemble that featured a structured suit layered with a traditional Indian drape. He paired it with a matching turban, priceless layered jewellery and a Maharaja sword case

Diljit was among a handful of Indian celebrities to attend the prestigious event. Others spotted on the red carpet included Shah Rukh Khan, Kiara Advani and global star Priyanka Chopra.
