A biographical film based on legendary actress Madhubala is currently in development. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali is producing the project, reports indicate that Jasmeet K. Reen, director of Darlings, is keen on helming it. Rumours also suggest that Aneet Padda has been cast in the lead role, with Sai Pallavi also in consideration. However, the film’s casting director, Mukesh Chhabra, has clarified that the process has not yet begun for Madhubala’s biopic.
Mukesh Chhabra Reacts To Madhubala Biopic Lead Actress Locked
Recently, Mukesh Chhabra, who is handling the film’s casting, addressed these rumours in a now-deleted tweet. He sarcastically remarked, “Oh wow, so Madhubala’s casting is already locked? Amazing. I keep reading a new ‘final’ name every day… I guess I must be casting for the wrong Madhubala biopic—because we haven’t even started yet. #MadhubalaBiopic.”
