Muzammil Ibrahim REVEALS Why He Was NOT A Part Of Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani; Says, “Was Expecting Ayan Mukerji To…”

Muzammil Ibrahim has finally shared why he didn’t end up being part of one of Bollywood’s most loved films, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013). The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kalki Koechlin, is still a fan favourite. Muzammil recently revealed that he was once considered for the role of Avi, which eventually went to Aditya Roy Kapur.

Muzammil said there was a misunderstanding during the casting stage. Speaking Hindi Rush, he said, “I was expecting Ayan to send me the script, but he didn’t. Maybe it was my fault too because I didn’t follow up. I should’ve asked him for it.”

He added that although he and Ayan were close friends, most of the communication was being handled by casting agents. “We were in touch, but when it came to final casting, things were handled by others. And sometimes, casting agents play their own games,” he said.

There were also rumours that his past relationship with Deepika Padukone might have affected his casting. But Muzammil denied this in an earlier interview with Siddharth Kannan. “It had nothing to do with her,” he clarified.

In fact, Muzammil said he even recommended Deepika for the film. “Ayan used to talk to me about casting options — whether to go with Deepika or Katrina Kaif. I told him Deepika was perfect for the role,” he said.
Despite missing out on the film, Muzammil has no hard feelings. He believes it was just a case of poor communication and timing, and he still speaks highly of everyone involved in the project.
