The much-awaited biopic of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray played by actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is all set to hit the theatres this January. The film will also have the ‘Vivah’ actress Amrita Rao playing the role of Meena Tai Thackeray (wife of Balasaheb Thackeray). Meena Tai Thackeray is known to be a strong pillar for the Thackeray family.

While dubbing for his role, Nawazuddin saw an emotional scene of Amrita’s character Meena Tai who had to read out a letter written to her by Balasaheb from jail.

Nawaz had to give his voice to the letter and while doing the voice over, he was moved by Amrita’s performance. Post dubbing, the actor rushed out and asked the director to call Amrita. The actor got emotional and complimented Amrita for her performance.

‘Thackeray’ is slated to release on January 25, 2019. Bal Thackeray was the founder and supremo of the political party Shiv Sena. The late leader is highly celebrated and admired by his followers.

We hope that the film is a huge success.
