Ranveer Singh on his beard and 'Padmavati' film

After the ethereal look of Deepika Padukone in and as Padmavati, we are all waiting with bated breath for the look of Ranveer Singh in this upcoming period drama. Many would be aware that the actor plays the role of Sultan Alauddin Khilji for which he had even grown beard. It’s been a while since he shaved it off, giving us a mini heart-attack, in the process. We automatically assumed that his portion of the movie may have been wrapped up. But now, the actor himself has revealed that this is not the case. At a recent event, the actor said that he had to shave off the beard to shoot some portions of the younger Khilji, and yes, he terribly misses his beard. Yeah, we feel you, Ranveer.

The actor had made his way at the GQ Men of the Year Awards where while interacting with the media he informed that ‘Padmavati’ is shaping up really well. He said, “There are lots of expectations with ‘Padmavati’… (The) Film is shaping up really well. I am very excited about the film. As of now, I shaved off my beard to shoot young Alauddin’s portion and I really miss my beard.” [sic] (Also Read: Katrina Kaif to star opposite Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty’s next?)

It’s been a few days since the first look of actress Deepika Padukone was launched, which sees her playing the titular role in the film. Talking about it, Ranveer added saying, “Now slowly material will start to come. Deepika’s look has been launched then Shahid’s and my look will also be out and after that trailer of the film will get release.” [sic]

Certainly, after hearing this, we just cannot wait for more updates on ‘Padmavati’. We definitely want to see this epic saga unfold on the screens.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Padmavati’ will also see actor Shahid Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.

The film is now slated to hit the screens on December 1, 2017.
