Yash’s Toxic was supposed to hit theatres on March 19 and was scheduled to clash at the box office with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2. But after the makers recently announced the postponement of the movie due to tensions in the Middle East. However, many wondered if it was done to avoid a clash with the Aditya Dhar directorial. However, an insider close to Yash has now revealed that there is ‘no rivalry’ between Toxic and Dhurandhar 2. And, in fact, the actor is really looking forward to the sequel to Ranveer Singh’s film.
NO Rivalry Between Yash’s Toxic, Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2
“Yash loved Dhurandhar and is looking forward to Part 2. All the rivalry, anxiety, and competitiveness is created by outsiders desirous of juicing the so-called competition between the two films,” a source cited by Bollywood Hungama said.
“Now, Toxic has moved forward not for fear of competition. But for the escalated war situation in the Gulf and UAE, which Dhurandhar 2 needn’t fear at all. Part 2 will be banned in Muslim countries just like Part 1 was,” the insider added.
About Toxic Delay
On the occasion of Holi, Yash took to Instagram to inform fans about the delay of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The makers’ statement read that the film was created with the aim of connecting with global audiences, and after years of ‘dedicated labour’. However, it also mentioned the ‘current uncertainty’ in the Middle East. They stated it could impact the film’s goal of reaching and connecting with wider audiences. Due to all these reasons, makers have decided to reschedule the release.
