Deepika Padukone in Padmavati

Amongst all the negativity on political front that is coming in the way of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’, here is one man from the Government whose statement is a sane one. We are talking about BJP member and CM of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, who recently spoke about the movie, and said that though he would take care that no sentiments are hurt, he would also respect the law and said it is wrong to ban the movie till CBFC’s decision on the same.

Speaking to ANI, the CM said, “We will take a decision on ‘Padmavati’ only after censor board clearance. We will not allow anyone’s sentiments to be hurt. We don’t think it is right to ban (a film) before censor board’s decision. (Also Read: Padmavati: More trouble ensues for the movie, as Gujarat too bans it)

He further spoke about the recent incident, when Surajpal Amu, BJP’s chief coordinator from Haryana, made a bold and vile statement, offering Rs 10 crore to the ones who would behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone. Khattar said, “This might be his personal opinion; government has nothing to do with it. We have issued him a show cause notice.”

Here are the tweets of ANI, on the same.

Well, at least there is still some sanity prevailing amongst those who are too drunk on power and spread hatred.

The release date of ‘Padmavati’ has been delayed because of the all the protests and chaos, and even CBFC has not certified the film yet, due to certain disagreements.

Only god can save ‘Padmavati’ now. We really hope the magnum opus hits the theatres soon, so art can win over all the hatred and we get to see the queen’s bravery on the big screen, replete with the talent that Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will bring, under the master grandeur of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
