rahat fateh ali khan, raveena tandon

The ban imposed on Pakistani artistes last year, owing to the Uri attacks, is still going strong and here’s an example of it. Famous Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was to feature in a special music video in the Raveena Tandon-starrer ‘Maatr‘, but his scene has been removed. Reportedly, the makers had planned to include a video that would feature the singer for movie promotions. (Also Watch: The trailer of Raveena Tandon-starrer ‘Maatr’ leaves an everlasting impact)

Producer Anjum Rizvi told reporters, “It would’ve been very ideal if we could, but unfortunately at this stage it is not happening.” So, the video will now star Raveena Tandon only and not Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as was planned before.

However, Raveena feels that there should be no boundaries when it comes to arts and culture. Speaking at the trailer launch of ‘Maatr’ today, she said, “As far as I am concerned, I feel art (and) culture music has no boundaries. Music is something which flows from within, has no walls, you can’t conceal it. Once the sound, musical notes are out you can’t control it.”

Ohkay! It’s unfortunate that due to strained tensions between the two countries, art has to suffer. ‘Maatr’ is slated for a release on April 21, 2017.
