Preity Zinta Reveals Being Emotional While Shooting Shah Rukh Khan’s Kal Ho Na Ho
Many scenes from the movie are still vivid in viewers’ minds. Among them, the emotionally charged climax, where Shah Rukh Khan’s character Aman passes away due to a rare illness, resonates deeply and evokes strong feelings. On Tuesday, Preity Zinta reminisced about the emotional toll she experienced while filming that poignant scene in Kal Ho Na Ho.
During a Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter), a fan wrote to Preity, “@realpreityzinta ma’am, every time I watch Kal Ho Naa Ho, I cry like a child. You absolutely nailed Naina Catherine Kapur. It taught me that sometimes love means letting go. When you watch Kal Ho Naa Ho after 20 years since filming, do you also cry like us? #pzchat.”
Preity responded honestly, sharing her personal connection to the scene. She revealed, “Yes, I do cry when I see it, and I cried while filming it too! My first love died in a car crash, so this film always hits differently for me. Fun fact—most scenes, all the actors cried naturally… and Aman’s death scene had everyone crying both in front of and behind the camera!”
Preity’s emotional connection to the scene is rooted in her own heartbreaking loss. She lost her father, Durganand Zinta, in a car accident when she was just 13 years old. Her father was an officer in the Indian Army.
Preity Zinta’s Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Preity is preparing for her comeback in the industry with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947. This project marks a significant milestone for her, as it’s her first film after a hiatus. Produced under Aamir Khan’s banner, Lahore 1947 is also notable for bringing together Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan’s production teams for this meaningful collaboration.
