Prerna Arora is back with a bang with her new production house Mandiraa Entertainment. And she has already announced two back-to-back films ‘Iti’ and ‘Rosie’. The talented filmmaker will be collaborating with Vivek Oberoi for both the films. Prerna is creatively involved with both films. She recently opened up about how creative minds are not acknowledged properly in the film industry.

Speaking about how this issue needs to be handled, Prerna told Mid-Day, “Unfortunately people don’t get an equal amount of credit they deserve for the work they put in. I think the one way to go forward is by appreciating the talent on its own merit without really adding a name tag or legacy to it, and then hiring and nurturing that talent because one genuinely believes in that potential. It cannot be denied that there is certain inequality when accrediting people, although, I am ever hopeful that things will change and people are recognised for their talent rather than any other external determinant.”

Further, she went on to explain how changes can be brought in to the existing system. The filmmaker shared, “I think there should be a system in place to give every technician his due credit. For example, a writer is one of the most important cogs in the wheel of filmmaking but is always ignored or sidelined in terms of credit. At Mandiraa Entertainment we will always ensure that the writer and his team get prominent credit in our films. Similarly, in every film, we will ensure that we will give ample opportunities to newcomers and passionate individuals. At least one new technician and one debutant actor will be part of our all ventures.”

Commenting on making the system a place for everyone, Prerna said, “The ones with power will always like to play be it any profession or any place in the world; but with unity and solicitude we can balance the scales and have an equal chance to retaliate.”
