The Hera Pheri series, which began in 2000, has achieved iconic status in India. The first two films starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles, and now, the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 is on the horizon. While a hint about the franchise was dropped on Priyadarshan’s birthday and Suniel Shetty also spilled beans on the franchise, a new update has surfaced. As per reports, Priyadarshan will start working on Hera Pheri 3 next year getting the OG cast back.
Priyadarshan on Hera Pheri 3
Opening up on his plans, Priyadarshan said ETV Bharat, “I plan to start work, start writing Hera Pheri 3 sometime next year. It is going to be very challenging to make the third part because there will be too many expectations. People are waiting to see Akshay, Paresh and Suniel again and we always say that it is easy to make people cry, it is easy to scare people but to make them laugh is very difficult and that too without using double entendre dialogues ..you have to make humour so pure and identifiable. Then, humor also changes, and the taste of the society changes. We have to catch up with that. Characters have gotten older and accordingly people should believe…these are important things. I am taking it as a challenge. Let’s see how it works.”
The excitement for sequel is high as Priyadarshan himself confirmed it being in work on Akshay Kumar’s birthday. The trio were even spotted at the airport which piqued the interest even more. According to a report by Pinkvilla, sources familiar with the project revealed that the actors are set to begin filming the first schedule of Hera Pheri 3 in December 2025. Initially, the project was set to be helmed by Fahad Samji and produced by Feroz Nadiadwala
