She jokingly refers to Malti as a ‘weird child.’ Priyanka explained that during a filming of an intense scene, she was covered in fake blood for her character.

When Malti saw her mother in that state, she immediately became worried and asked if she was hurt. Priyanka reassured her that it was all pretend and part of acting, but Malti’s reaction surprised her. Instead of being alarmed, the toddler quickly adapted, even painting the fake blood on her own face and playing along. Priyanka laughed as she recounted the moment, calling it one of those unexpected parenting experiences that left her both amused and amazed.

Priyanka has often opened up about her daughter’s early arrival and the emotional journey that followed. Malti was born prematurely via surrogacy and spent over 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit before coming home. Priyanka has described that period as incredibly challenging, sharing how protective she felt as a new mother.

In a recent appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast, Priyanka revealed that she and Nick were “forced to announce her birth” just before they were ready, as the news was about to become public. At that time, they were still navigating the delicate early days of Malti’s premature arrival and weren’t emotionally prepared to share the news.

Regarding her family, Priyanka married Nick Jonas in 2018 in Rajasthan, with a blend of Christian and Hindu ceremonies. They welcomed Malti in January 2022. Although Priyanka previously shared her daughter’s photos on social media, she has not done so recently.

As for her latest projects, Priyanka stars in The Bluff, directed by Frank E. Flowers, which follows a former pirate trying to leave behind a violent past and protect her family, set against a gritty backdrop. The cast includes Karl Urban, Safia Oakley-Green, Temuera Morrison, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Zack Morris, and David Field. The film is produced by the Russo brothers’ AGBO banner.

Fans can also look forward to Priyanka in the second season of the web series Citadel. Additionally, she is set to make her Telugu debut in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, scheduled for release on April 7, 2027. In the film, Priyanka will play the role of Mandakini.
