Priyanka Chopra to produce American series based on the life of Madhuri Dixit

Priyanka Chopra has successfully managed to strike the perfect balance between Bollywood and Hollywood. She has also ventured into regional cinema by turning a producer, along with her mother, Dr Madhu Chopra. Now, she is all set to produce an American comedy series for US network ABC which will be based on the life of Madhuri Dixit.

A report in variety.com states that the untitled series revolves around the real life story of Madhuri Dixit who will also be a part of the project as the executive producer. The story will basically trace Madhuri’s journey post marriage as she settles in the US with Dr Sriram Nene and tries to bring about her colourful lifestyle there. For those uninitiated, Madhuri took a break post her marriage with Sriram Nene and she then shifted base to Denver from Mumbai to start a family. Sri Rao, who has been the writer of shows like ‘General Hospital: Night Shift’, will write the pilot and will also be the executive producer along with Madhuri’s husband. It was just last month that Madhuri had stated that something exciting will be announced soon. She had tweeted, “Loving downtime in the US. Back up soon with announcements. Til then enjoy.” So now we know, what’s it about.

Talking about Priyanka’s current work commitments, she will be seen in the third season of ‘Quantico’. She is also shooting for the romantic comedy ‘Isn’t It Romantic’ with Liam Hemsworth. On the Bollywood front, she is yet to announce her projects. She had said, “I am coming back to Mumbai for some time in August-September. Later, I begin shooting for the third season of ‘Quantico’. So yes, if there’s something substantial, I will definitely take it up and everyone will know.”

Well, her fans are eagerly waiting to see her sizzle in Bollywood soon.
