Gaurang Doshi talks about the casting matter of Ileana D'Cruz

We were in for a shock when the news of the actress Ileana D’Cruz planning to file a lawsuit against the makers of ‘Aankhen 2‘ to announce her name in the movie without her permission made it to the headlines. Recently, a grand launch was hosted where the official cast of ‘Aankhen 2’ was revealed. In this event, an AV was shown to introduce every cast member where actress Ileana D’Cruz’s name was also present. Later, the ‘Rustom’ actress’ manager stated, “Ileana is not doing the film.”

After this clarification from her manager’s side, producer Gaurang Doshi is out with a statement where he says that Ileana D’Cruz had in principle agreed to do ‘Aankhen 2’. Talking about it to an agency, Gaurang said, “We had a meeting with Ileana D’Cruz along with her manager and besides me, director Anees Bazmee was also present. We had this meeting two days before the launch event. She had said she liked the idea of the film and her role. And within a week she would sign an agreement.”

According to some industry insiders, this was perhaps done for the sake of publicity for Gaurang Doshi to rake in money. To which he replied saying,”I don’t need publicity. My film doesn’t require her (Ileana) to get funds…She will not get me funds. Also why would I put her in promo. If I wanted to put promo of a heroine I would have put Katrina Kaif or any other big heroine.” [sic]

“That time when we met at a five star hotel in Bandra everything was fine. We had negotiated price and all. Today she says doesn’t want to do ‘Aankhen 2’. Its her wish. Its fine now. All the best. I don’t want to put allegations. I just want this matter to end,” [sic] added the producer.

Gaurang also states he had not received any calls or messages from Ileana stating her disinterest in doing ‘Aankhen 2’.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film will see Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Arshad Warsi and south actress Regina Cassandra in the lead roles.
