Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been arrested in Dubai? A while ago, several reports surfaced that the popular singer was arrested in the Gulf country owing to a defamation complaint filed by his former manager Salman Ahmed. The reports claim Khan had dismissed Ahmed a few months ago following a dispute. As per these reports, Rahat – who has sung several Indian songs, was detained at the immigration centre and taken into police custody for questioning.
As these reports continue to circulate, the Pakistani singer took to social media to clarify they weren’t true. He asks fans not to pay heed to these malicious reports while promising a new song release soon.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan refutes Dubai arrest claims
Taking to his Instagram handle a while ago, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan shared a short video dismissing the reports. He says in Hindi, “Assalamu alaikum everyone, I am Rahat Fatali Khan, yours Rahat Fatali Khan. I came to Dubai to record my songs. And everything is fine. I request you not to listen to the bad rumours. There is nothing like what the enemy is thinking. There is nothing like that. Insha Allah. I will be back soon with a super hit song.”
He continued, “I request all my fans not to listen to the malicious news and waste your time. Inshallah, you are my power. My audience, my fans are my power. And after Allah, my fans are my power. And I love you. Thank you very much. Allah Hafiz.” Rahat captioned the video, “News circulating regarding the arrest of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is fake and baseless. Regards Team RFAK”
