Rajpal Yadav addressed the public appeal by Sonu Sood to offer him work during his jail term, calling it a misconception. The actor clarified that he doesn’t need to ask for projects. Yadav was recently embroiled in controversy after he was sent to Tihar Jail in connection with a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case. While in custody, several celebrities and filmmakers, including Priyadarshan and Sonu Sood, extended their support. When he was unable to pay his debt, Sood penned a lengthy note urging the industry to give him work. Now, Yadav has responded, stating that he has enough work and that the note was based on a misconception.
Rajpal Yadav REACTS To Sonu Sood’s Comment On Offering Her Work
In an interview with SCREEN, Rajpal Yadav was asked about the comment by Sonu Sood about offering him work during his difficult time. He said, “Please get over the misconception that I need to keep asking for work. And there is no shame in asking for work. I live through my job; cinema is my passion, and I work in such a way that I get four times more work. I work even on vacations. Work doesn’t find me; it has lived with me for the last 11 years.”
What Did Sonu Sood Say?
Taking to his social media, Sonu Sood had extended support to Yadav when he was sentenced to jail. He mentioned that he was unable to repay the loan. He wrote, “Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Sometimes life turns unfair, not because of talent, but because timing can be brutal. He will be part of my film, and I believe this is the moment for all of us — producers, directors, colleagues — to stand together. A small signing amount, adjustable against future work, is not charity; it’s dignity. When one of our own is going through a tough phase, the industry must remind him he’s not alone. This is how we show we are more than just an industry.”
For those unaware, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to the police after the Delhi High Court ordered him to do so in relation to multiple cheque bounce cases. Yadav, who had taken a loan to produce his film Ata Pata Laapata in 2010, was unable to repay it. He was later granted bail.
About Rajpal’s Projects

It features 27 actors, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Tushhar Kapoor, and Shreyas Talpade. He also has a role in Haiwaan, where he plays a small but impactful part. Additionally, he has two web series in the pipeline.
