Ram Gopal Varma, who recently completed his Manoj Bajpayee-led Police Station Mein Bhoot, expressed his enthusiasm for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into his future filmmaking endeavours. Manoj Bajpayee described his upcoming film as a “creative shock,” highlighting how significantly Varma has evolved as a filmmaker. The horror comedy marks another collaboration between the duo, who previously worked together on films like Daud (1997), Satya (1998), Kaun (1999), Shool (1999), and Sarkar 3 (2017).
Ram Gopal Varma Believes AI Will Enhance Filmmaking
Recently, at a film festival in Mumbai, the director discussed the potential of AI in filmmaking. Speaking to Mid-Day, he said, “Any technology will enhance the craft of filmmaking. It will be very stupid not to use it because people tend to resist any new technology.”
The rise of AI has sparked apprehension among many, including actors and filmmakers, who are also wary. Ram Gopal Varma acknowledged this, stating, “All the big-budget filmmakers are scared because a tool like Seedance [AI video generator] is creating sequences for a few dollars that hundreds of crores of rupees cannot do.”
However, he clarified his stance on how to avoid becoming overly dependent on AI. Ram Gopal said, “You can be a slave only when it requires you. I don’t think AI needs you, to begin with.”
About Police Station Mein Bhoot
With filming underway and the first schedule wrapped, the project promises a captivating journey that intertwines fear, irony, and RGV’s distinctive storytelling style. Central to the narrative is a provocative question: we run to police stations when we’re scared. But where do the police run when they’re afraid? This reunion of two legendary figures combines an intriguing theme. It has already made Police Station Mein Bhoot one of the most highly anticipated projects in the pipeline.
