Spreha Chatterjee Opens Up On Her Character Post Leap

Opening up about the big storyline shift, Spreha Chatterjee shared that Mahi’s character has undergone one of the most drastic transformations. She said, “After the leap, the character who has changed the most is Mahi.” According to her, the change is not sudden but comes from a deep emotional realisation that alters Mahi’s outlook on life.

Talking about the earlier phase of her character, Spreha explained, “Before the leap, Mahi did a lot for Gautam. She would do whatever Gautam asked her to do. Mahi trusted him completely and didn’t question his motives. She didn’t see what was really going on around her because she was so emotionally dependent.”

However, things begin to shift after the leap, when Mahi starts to see Gautam’s true nature. “Gautam deeply influenced her, and she trusted him blindly without realising that his actions were wrong. But after the leap, everything changes for her when she begins to see Gautam’s true intention,” Spreha revealed. This moment of clarity becomes a turning point in her journey.

She further added, “This realisation transforms her into a bold and self-assured woman.” Mahi finally understands that Gautam is not the person she once believed him to be. She also knows that Anu Maa and the others were right not to trust him, especially after what he did to Prarthana.

Mahi’s growing independence makes this change even stronger. Spreha shared, “She now stands up for herself by questioning him, and she refuses to be manipulated by him any longer.” The character is no longer emotionally dependent and has started making her own decisions.

Adding another layer to her growth, Mahi has now begun working with Anil Kaka and is earning on her own. This step has made her financially independent and stronger in every sense. As Spreha puts it, Mahi’s journey is now about self-respect and courage. Mahi’s character has changed a lot in this new phase. She is now aware, confident, and ready to fight for her dignity. Her arc is one of the most powerful in Anupamaa.
