Ramayana Granted U Certificate From CBFC Ahead Of Trailer Release

With the clock ticking down to the release of the highly anticipated trailer of ‘Ramayana’, a new update has left fans buzzing. The film, which will unveil its first official trailer in just a few days, has already been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to the CBFC certificate, ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in lead roles, will reportedly have two trailers. Scroll down to read the full story.

Ramayana Granted U Certificate From CBFC Ahead Of Trailer Release

As per the certificate, the film’s trailer was granted a ‘U’ (Universal) certificate on July 15, making it suitable for audiences of all age groups, from children to adults. Interestingly, the trailer is significantly longer than most other theatrical previews. The CBFC website lists two versions of the trailer: one titled ‘Trailer – Ramayana 3D’ with a runtime of 4 minutes and 15 seconds, and another titled ‘Theatrical Trailer – Ramayana 3D’ running for exactly 4 minutes. It remains to be seen whether the online release will feature an additional 15 seconds or if that footage will be reserved for the big-screen version.

The upcoming trailers are the next major promotional assets for the film. The first announcement video was unveiled on July 3, 2025, introducing audiences to this ambitious mythological epic. On April 2, the makers released the ‘Rama First Look’ coinciding with Hanuman Jayanti. It showcased Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and teased Yash as the antagonist Ravana. That character trailer was 2 minutes and 38 seconds long and also received a ‘U’ certificate. The CBFC certification for the trailer comes just days after the official social media post announcing.
