Ranbir Kapoor gives his nod for Sourav Ganguly’s biopic, actor to start shooting in Kolkata soon- Report

Ranbir Kapoor is one of the talented actors in Bollywood. Ranbir is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar will be released next month. Post that, Ranbir will be seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. And now, if reports are to be believed, Ranbir is set to start shooting for former cricketer Sourav Ganguly’s biopic in Kolkata soon.

Ranbir to star in Sourav Ganguly’s biopic

Reportedly, Ranbir has given his nod for Sourav Ganguly’s biopic. Earlier, there were reports that Ranbir will play Sourav Ganguly in his biopic. Since then, fans have been sharing their excitement. And now, it looks like, fans’ dreams are coming true. A latest report published in ETimes suggests that Ranbir will start shooting for the upcoming project soon.

A source close to Sourav Ganguly said, “Ranbir Kapoor has been confirmed for the biopic, and he will play Sourav Ganguly onscreen. Earlier, there were reportedly some date issues, but now it is believed Ranbir has given his nod. Interestingly, Sourav has time and again expressed his admiration for Ranbir.”

The report further added that the film is being made on a budget of around Rs 200-250 crores. Reportedly, Ranbir will jet off to Kolkata to visit Eden Gardens and Sourav Ganguly’s home before he starts shooting.

Earlier, Sourav Ganguly had confirmed that the upcoming project based on his life will be bankrolled by Luv Films. In September 2021, Sourav Ganguly tweeted, “Cricket has been my life, it gave confidence and ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished. Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen @LuvFilms @luv_ranjan @gargankur @DasSanjay1812.”

Talking about Ranbir’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, it also stars Shraddha Kapoor. The Luv Ranjan directorial is slated to release on 8^th March, 2023.
