Ranveer Singh Kareena Kapoor Takht release

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is celebrating his 47th birthday today. The multi-talented filmmaker is going through a purple patch and makes things happen. KJo is known for his astute business skills and is a very creative individual. Now, Karan’s next directorial venture ‘Takht’s release could be delayed.

‘Takht’ features a heavyweight line-up consisting of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar. The film is based on the Mughal era and chronicles the story of two warring brothers. The magnum opus has been reportedly pushed due to the delay in its first shoot schedule.

A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama said, “Given that the film will be an opulent visual masterpiece and is also a period flick set against a Moghul backdrop the pre-production has taken longer than expected. This stage which was supposed to be completed a while back is far from over and will take the next few months as well. Keeping this in mind the first schedule which was expected to commence between June-July has now been pushed till the end of the year.”

The source further added, “Since earlier the shoot of ‘Takht’ was expected to commence in mid-2019, Karan was looking at releasing the film at the beginning of 2020. However, now, with this delay, the release of the film has been pushed to Diwali 2020, which is in November.”

Hopefully, Karan can put all the speculations to the rest by issuing a statement. Stay tuned to Bollywood Bubble for all the latest news and updates.
