Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati‘, which was supposed to go on floors last week, is running behind the schedule and the reason is the film’s lead actor, Ranveer Singh. According to a source, the actor, who plays Alauddin Khilji in the film has put forth a condition in front of the director. Ranveer apparently will begin shooting only if the other actor in the film, Shahid Kapoor, who plays Rawal Ratan Singh, is only given a guest appearance billing.

Ranveer has allegedly already spoken to Sanjay Leela Bhansali about it, but SLB cannot do anything about it. The first reason being that he has the same number of days from both actors in his hands and Shahid’s is an equally important role, and second, that Shahid will back out of the film if he is given a guest appearance billing.

Shahid, in the first place, accepted the offer only after he knew that his character is at par with Ranveer’s.

It is also reported that SLB is extremely annoyed with the way Ranveer has been reacting. In spite of working together in two back to back hits, ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela — Ram-Leela’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Ranveer still does not trust him. Bhansali apparently has told people close to him that he might never work with him again after this. A source confirms, “Now, Bhansali has asked Deepika to talk to Ranveer and convince him to start the film. Because the film will not move if Ranveer doesn’t come around.”

Seems like the trouble in paradise for ‘Padmavati’ doesn’t seem to end.
