Sources indicate that Ranveer Singh may soon be venturing into producing an OTT series based on Mukesh Khanna’s iconic Shaktimaan saga. The journey of the Ranveer Singh and Shaktimaan connection has seen several developments over the past year. Last year, reports emerged that Ranveer was interested in portraying the Indian superhero on the big screen. However, this plan hit a snag when Mukesh Khanna, the original star of the TV series, made contrasting claims regarding Ranveer’s involvement.

Ranveer Singh To Produce Mukesh Khanna’s Shaktimaan OTT Series?

As per Filmfare’s sources have revealed that Ranveer is potentially developing an OTT series centred on Shaktimaan. An insider shared, “Ranveer has taken the rights of developing Shaktimaan. He’s on board as a partner and mostly, the makers are aiming at creating a series. Whether Ranveer will play the title character or not is a question we’ll have to ask in the near future.”

The source was unable to confirm or deny Mukesh Khanna’s involvement in this project. Nevertheless, there is hope that Ranveer and Mukesh Khanna might reconcile and deliver the adaptation or reboot that fans have eagerly awaited.

About Shaktimaan

The original Shaktimaan TV series aired from 1997 to 2005. It cultivated a devoted following, resonating with audiences of all ages, including young adults who grew up watching the Indian superhero. While films like Krrish and Minnal Murali brought superheroes to the big screen, none have matched the cultural impact of Shaktimaan in its TV format.

This new OTT series presents an excellent opportunity to revisit or expand the legacy of such an iconic character. Ranveer has portrayed larger-than-life roles in films and is seen as the perfect actor to bring a fun, adventurous superhero to the screen. It could also serve as his debut in the OTT space. He is currently busy shooting for Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.
