Following the tremendous success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh is experiencing a career-high phase and is reportedly gearing up for his next project, Pralay, which is said to be directed by Jai Mehta. The latest update indicates that this zombie drama is being made on a massive budget of Rs 300 crore. After delivering the biggest hit of his career with Dhurandhar, Ranveer is excited about his upcoming venture, which is being described as one of the most ambitious films of his career. The project is reportedly helmed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, and is believed to be set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ranveer Singh Led Pralay To Be Made On Rs 300 Cr Budget?
According to Pinkvilla, Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Pralay is envisioned as a large-scale action movie. It emphasizes strong human emotions and a storyline centered around a family in distress. Said to be made on a budget of Rs 300 crore, Pralay could become the most expensive project in Ranveer’s filmography. While Dhurandhar was also mounted on a large scale, its two-part format helped split the production costs.
“Ranveer has entered into a backend profit-sharing deal and is involved in every stage, from script development to VFX planning. This is also the maiden venture under his production banner, Ma Kasam Films, making it even more special for him,” a source told the entertainment portal.
The report further indicates that Ranveer and Jai’s Pralay might place a significant emphasis on VFX and content equally. Although there has been no official announcement yet, the film is expected to begin shooting in May or June 2026. Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan is reportedly the female lead, but the makers have not officially confirmed the cast.
Rnaveer’s Projects
On the work front, Ranveer was last seen in Aditya Dhar’s hit spy thriller Dhurandhar. It was released on December 5 last year. The film broke several box office records and featured an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt. It was praised by critics and audiences alike for its engaging story and performances.
Just 3 months after Dhurandhar’s success, Ranveer is set to return as Hamza in Dhurandhar 2. It is slated for release on March 19. Helmed once again by Aditya Dhar, the sequel is expected to be even larger in scope than the first film. Ranveer and the supporting cast will reprise their roles, with the film being produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios.
