South star Rashmika Mandanna is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Mission Majnu opposite Sidharth Malhotra. The shooting commences today in the city of nawabs- Lucknow. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi the movie showcases true events from the 70s. The story revolves around the covert operations carried out by India in Pakistan during those times. These, later on, went on to decide the relationship between India and Pakistan.
Rashmika Mandanna plays the love interest of Sidharth who is a RAW agent and goes to Pakistan as a part of an undercover operation. It is also reported that the Southern superstar spent around two weeks in Mumbai to prepare for her role in Mission Majnu. She will also be seen next in Pushpa opposite Allu Arjun slated to release on 13th August 2021.
Rashmika said in a statement that she is grateful for his opportunity, ““I am grateful to the makers for offering me Mission Majnu which is written beautifully, and I am super excited to be part of a team that has so much passion. We are all working together to make it even more amazing. I am super excited to start my journey in Hindi cinema and to reach out to newer audiences.”

The lead cast Siddharth and Mandanna will resume from 12th February. According to reports, it will be a 45-day schedule during which the team will shoot on the city roads, Malihabad, La Martiniere, and Jahangirabad Palace in Hazratganj. Sidharth Malhotra has a busy 2021 with Thank God and Shershaah waiting to be released. The actor plays Vikram Batra – the Param Vir Chakra awardee in the film. The movie also stars Kiara Advani his off-screen love interest.
