‘Vande Mataram’ song out: The first song of ‘RAW’ is a tribute to all the unsung heroes of 1971

The makers of ‘RAW’ (‘Romeo Akbar Walter’) have released its first song ‘Vande Mataram’. The song is sung by Sonu nigam and written and composed by Shabbir Ahmed. Speaking about the song, Nigam said, “‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ is a tribute to the unsung heroes of India who serve the nation behind enemy lines and choose to sacrifice their very existence for the country. ‘Vande Mataram’ for me is a song of reverence and has just the right amount of emotions to tug at your patriotic chords.”

Sonu Nigam seems to have given his heart and soul for this fresh rendition that gives a patriotic fervour. You can watch the song here.

A few days back, the trailer of the John Abraham starrer released online. It is a gripping espionage thriller that pays salute to those who serve the nation behind enemy lines and yet remain nameless, faceless and are often forgotten.  The movie is set against the backdrop of 1971 when the Pakistani forces surrendered to India. The Indian intelligence agencies played a crucial part in this decisive win. Saluting the valour of these brave men and women, the makers have released the song.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Dheeraj Wadhawan, Ajay Kapoor, Vanessa Walia and Gary Grewal, the movie is directed by Robbie Grewal. The spy-thriller also stars Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Sikander Kher in pivotal roles. It is releasing on April 5.
