After Jacqueline Fernandez, now Rhea Chakraborty is also being granted special permission to attend the 22nd edition of IIFA in Abu Dhabi. A special court under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has now allowed Rhea to attend the award function that starts from June 2 to 5 at United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The court has granted the permission to Chakraborty on special conditions. It has directed the actress to give an additional cash surety of Rs 1 lakh. It also said that her bail might be cancelled if she does not follow any of the conditions applied to her trip to Dubai. The Court also ordered the authorities to hand over the actress’ passport to her.

As per a report in Bar and Bench, special judge A A Joglekar in his order said, “The Investigating Officer is hereby directed to handover the passport to the applicant/accused, who is hereby permitted to travel to Abu Dhabi, Dubai for a limited period from June 2 to June 5.”

The judge has also asked Rhea to be present before the Investigating Officer and submit her passport with the Investigating Officer upon her return on June 6, by 5 pm. She is also further asked to report to the Indian Embassy daily during her stay in Dubai and submit her attendance sheet before the special court on return.

For the unversed, post Sushant Singh Rajput’s death on June 14, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in September 2020 after Whatsapp chats with drug peddlers were recovered from her phone. She was granted bail in October 2020.
