RIP Rahat Indori: Javed Akhtar, Adnan Sami, Anubhav Sinha mourn the death of legendary poet and lyricist

Veteran lyricist and poet Rahat Indori left for his heavenly abode on Tuesday. He was admitted to an Indore hospital after he had tested positive for Covid-19. The doctor said that she had suffered two heart attacks. “He suffered two heart attacks today and could not be saved. He was admitted to hospital on Sunday, after testing positive for Covid-19. He had 60% pneumonia,” said Dr Vinod Bhandari of Sri Aurobindo Hospital to ANI.

Celebs like Javed Akhtar, Adnan Sami, Anubhav Sinha and others mourned the death of the legendary poet and lyricist. They took to their social media handles to condole his death.

Javed Akhtar tweeted, “Rahat Saheb’s demise is an irreparable loss for contemporary urdu poetry and our society at large . Like Habib Jalib he was from the fast disappearing tribe of poets who are never short of courage to call a spade a spade.”

Adnan is ‘saddened’ to hear the death of Rahat Indori. “Saddened to learn that legendary Urdu Poet Rahat Indori Sahib has passed away. Oh Lord!!Folded hands.My heartfelt condolences to the family…إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون.May Allah SWT bless him in Jannat-ul-Firdaus…Ameen.Palms up together,” he tweeted.
