Sachet–Parampara publicly responded to the claims by Amaal Mallik that their song Bekhayali was originally his, strongly denying the allegations. In an Instagram video posted earlier today, the duo addressed Amaal Mallik’s assertion that he created Bekhayali before the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh. They emphasised that it was time to speak out and set the record straight.
Sachet–Parampara Accuse Amaal Mallik Of Misrepresenting Bekhayali’s Origin
In the caption accompanying their video, they wrote, “Warning. This video could have been a 10-second clip, also proving all rumours false, but for our mental peace, exposing some people was very important. Amaal Mallik, SHAME ON YOU.” The pair responded to repeated accusations from Amaal that their song was stolen.
During the video, they stated: “Hello everyone, we are Sachet and Parampara, and we need to address something that has become quite serious. This concerns Mr. Amaal Mallik. Honestly, we never thought we’d have to clarify this, but it’s necessary. We’re talking about Bekhayali, which Amaal Mallik claims he created some time ago.”
They further dismissed Amaal’s suggestion that industry favouritism might have influenced the situation. They pointed out that they had no prior relationship with T-Series before Kabir Singh, whereas Amaal had been associated with the company since 2015. Responding to his claim that someone shared his song with them via WhatsApp, they questioned why anyone outside the industry would favour them as outsiders.
The duo also shared screenshots of Amaal’s conversations, showing that he had complimented their song after its release and even mentioned he was “waiting” for it. They added that they didn’t have his phone number initially and that Amaal was the one who reached out to them.
Sachet–Parampara Call For An Apology
Expressing disappointment, Sachet–Parampara stated they never expected such an attitude from Amaal. They recalled that he had praised Bekhayali in person, calling it “fab,” and dismissed Kabir Singh as “nothing” during an engagement at the T-Series office. They asserted that both versions of Bekhayali were created in front of Shahid Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and they have “all the proof” to support this.
The duo also accused Amaal of making baseless media statements and manipulating his fans. They criticised his tendency to blame the industry, emphasising that success is driven by persistent hard work rather than insider-outside politics.
The duo reaffirmed that all their work, including songs like Har Har Mahadev, is original and urged Amaal not to make false claims. They stated they are prepared to take legal action if necessary. Finishing their message, Sachet–Parampara demanded a public apology, asserting that Amaal’s allegations had damaged their reputation. They concluded by saying they accept professional setbacks graciously and continue to focus on improving their craft rather than criticising others.
