Pooja Bhatt extends her support to Saif Ali Khan who recently endured a harrowing experience. The actor was stabbed during a burglary attempt at his Mumbai residence. To protect his family, he sustained six stab wounds, one of which was near his spine. After undergoing surgery, Saif was discharged from Lilavati Hospital on January 21, just five days post-operation.
Pooja Bhatt extends support to Saif Ali Khan’s trolling
Despite his quick recovery, the incident sparked controversy online. A video of Saif walking home from the hospital, dressed in a white shirt and jeans with visible bandages, went viral. This led some netizens to question the seriousness of his injuries. There were allegations suggesting that the stabbing might have been a PR stunt aimed at garnering media attention. Many expressed disbelief over how someone with such severe injuries could walk so soon after the attack.
Amid the backlash, actress Pooja Bhatt came to Saif Ali Khan’s defence. “The graphic details of the stabbing that emerged in the media painted an image in people’s heads about Saif’s physical state. That image was perhaps not in sync with the visuals of seeing him walk out of hospital on his own two feet,” she told ETimes.
“But don’t these very people forget that they lauded him for walking himself into the hospital as well? A man who checks himself into hospital in a wounded, traumatized condition surely has the grit to walk out of the hospital on his own. We should be applauding this instead of resorting to being conspiracy theorists,” the actress added.
Saif’s gratitude to auto-driver
In addition to addressing the controversy, Saif expressed his gratitude for the help he received during the incident. An auto driver named Bhajan Singh Rana played a crucial role. He rushed him to the hospital immediately after the attack. Saif later met Rana at the hospital to thank him personally. It reportedly gifted him Rs 50,000 for his selfless assistance during such a critical time.
