‘Sayonee’ released yesterday all over theatres. The film has been garnering great reviews, and people have been calling it a total entertainer. However, the Tanmay Ssingh, Musskan Sethi and Rahul Roy starrer action-thriller isn’t getting the expected footfall at the theatres. The box-office figures definitely have been impacted due to the ongoing pandemic scare amidst the masses.

People are still afraid to venture out to the theatres and with the Covid-19 numbers increasing day-by-day, the theatres are having a tough time to get back on their feet. Sadly, one of the best films to have released post the theatres being opened, ‘Sayonee’, is suffering massively due to this.

The film is a complete package. Its music is doing great on social media with songs sung by Arijit Singh going viral all over. Then you got the fantastic shooting locales of the movie. From Russia to Dubai to parts having been shot in Punjab and Mumbai, the scale of the movie is totally on an international level. It surely helps the visual aspect and compels you to be wanting more and more. Lastly, the stellar action of the movie is going to keep you hooked to your seats till the very end. The edgy thriller makes you wait with bated breath about what is to be expected, and by the end, you’re left with a sense of awe when the climax actually unfolds.

Despite all of that, the movie isn’t getting the much-needed footfalls at the ticket windows, and from what we fathom, the pandemic scare is a lot to blame for it. Had the film been released during a normal time, then it would have gotten some great box-office numbers and would have surely gotten Tanmay Ssingh into the big leagues overnight.

Talking of the film, here’s what it’s about: Rajdeep Randhawa (Tanmay Ssingh), a lively Punjabi boy and an internationally acclaimed shooter, meets Mahi. Mahi is a Delhi girl and she hits it off with Raj in the most unusual way that soon turns into love. But, it’s not hearts and flowers always as Mahi gets an invitation from a university in Russia for her research only to find herself trapped. In comes her knight Raj who jets off to Russia to save his love. Will he be able to save his pretty lady love? Will he be able to find out the culprits behind this whole mess and end up taking the necessary revenge? Well, you’ll have to watch the movie to know that.
