‘Secret Superstar’: New poster featuring Zaira and Aamir makes us curious

Just few days back, Aamir Khan had released a brand new poster of his upcoming production ‘Secret Superstar’. The film stars Zaira Wasim in the lead role, who has received a National Film Award for her performance as the young Geeta Phogat in ‘Dangal’ (2016). The trailer of this film will be unveiled by the makers today, but before that, they have released yet another poster that will surely make you more curious.

Aamir Khan took to his Twitter handle to share this new poster and along with it announced the time when the trailer would be online. He wrote, “Hey guys, the Secret Superstar trailer will be out at 6.30/45 pm today.  Here is the poster of the film. Love. a.” [sic]

If we have a look at this new poster, the character of Zaira who aspires to be a singer is seen dreaming about the same, while holding a guitar in her hand. Plus, we can see Aamir, who plays a rockstar in this movie and has an extended cameo, in the backdrop, a part of Zaira’s character’s dream, that of being a rockstar one day. ‘Secret Superstar’ revolves around a 14-year-old girl named Insia (played by Zaira Wasim) who desires to be a singer, much to the chagrin of her father. She then decides to make her own YouTube channel in which she posts videos of herself singing, all the while covering her face in a burkha. She is then scouted by Aamir’s character who is a music director and is impressed by Insia’s musical talent.

The film is helmed by debutant Advait Chandan, produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla. It is slated to hit the screens during the festive time of Diwali.
