On August 5, everyone woke up to the exciting news of the Indian men’s hockey team winning a bronze medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. This is our hockey team’s first medal in Olympics after a gap of 41 years! It’s indeed a historic day for the entire nation. Fans have flooded the internet with congratulatory messages for team India.

Bollywood celebs too took to their social media handles to congratulate the team for making the entire nation proud. Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Tamannaah Bhatia and several other celebs celebrated the historic win of the Indian hockey team.

Shah Rukh Khan congratulating the team tweeted, “Wow!! Indian Men’s Hockey Team Congratulations. Resilience and skill at its peak. What an exciting match(sic).” 

Superstar Akshay Kumar sharing a memorable moment from the post-match ceremony, wrote, “Congratulations Team India on rewriting history! An Olympic medal after 41 years! What a match, what a comeback! #Tokyo2020(sic).”

“A win that will go down in history. What a phenomenal performance by our men’s hockey team. Bringing home the bronze after 41 years! Congratulations Team India” tweeted Tamannaah Bhatia.

Nimrat Kaur also lauded the Indian team. “Huge congratulations to the men’s hockey team!!! Absolutely incredible#Olympics,” she tweeted.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar also expressed his joy and congratulated the entire team.

Team India defeated four-time champions Germany by 5-4 in a nail-biting match to bag the bronze medal. It’s a huge day for India at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020.
