Bollywood is one of the biggest industries in India, when it comes to entertainment and it transcends all barriers. The film industry has produced titans and now the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt will be present for the inauguration of the prestigious 24th Kolkata International Film Festival 2018.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be doing the honours with prominent personalities across the film fraternity and world of politics in attendance.

Mamata Banerjee will be hosting the inaugural event at the Netaji Indoor Stadium from 4 pm today whereas the film festival will go on till November 17. The event will also see the celebration of Bengali cinema completing 100 years. Bengal and Bengali culture have played a pivotal role even in Hindi cinema and it has only enriched the Bollywood to a great extent.

SRK also shares a special connection with West Bengal as he is the co-owner of IPL franchise Kolkata Kinght Riders. Shah Rukh Khan will be showing the trailer of his much-awaited film ‘Zero’ at the inaugural function. After this SRK will be speaking about cinema and other things related to the festival.
