Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone may not have attended the Met Gala, but they certainly made waves online with their beach shoot for their upcoming film, King. The on-screen couple, rumored to be romancing each other in the movie, were spotted filming a song sequence at the beach. Viral visuals show them dressed in breezy, neutral-toned outfits, walking towards each other before performing choreography against a stunning golden sunset.

Deepika and Shah Rukh were seen rehearsing their dance moves multiple times, pausing occasionally and returning to their positions. Although the beach location appeared to be restricted, the duo attracted a sizable crowd eager to catch their shoot in action.

The actors arrived in South Africa last week to begin filming, starting with a song sequence. Clips from the set even teased a snippet of the track, rumoured to be an Ed Sheeran number.

For the unversed, Deepika is expecting her second child with Ranveer Singh. Some Reddit users also felt the visuals gave “Pathaan vibes”, with one writing, “Another Pathaan loading.” In Pathaan, Shah Rukh and Deepika also featured in a romantic beach song, Besharam Rang. Interestingly, Siddharth Anand directed the film.

Shah Rukh Khan Spotted Shooting a Solo Car Scene

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh has also been spotted filming scenes in a car. Reports suggest that the stars are in Cape Town to shoot an intense climax. Director Siddharth Anand recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to request fans not to share any leaked footage from the set, emphasising that the team is working tirelessly to deliver the best cinematic experience.

His message read: “REQUEST TO ALL THE FANS. Please do not post or circulate any leaked multimedia from the sets of KING. The team is working round the clock to ensure the best cinematic experience for everyone. Let us wait for the surprise on the big screen and for the assets to be revealed as the team of King originally intends to. Thank you for your love, support and cooperation. Shah Rukh Khan in & as KING.”

In addition to SRK and Deepika, the film features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Jaideep Ahlawat. Notably, this marks Suhana Khan’s theatrical debut, following her 2024 Netflix film The Archies. It has been directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. King is scheduled to hit theatres on December 24, 2026.
