Shah Rukh Khan to star in the Hindi remake of blockbuster Tamil film ‘Mersal’?

Badshah Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’. The film also starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. However, it failed to create any magic on the box-office and was panned by the audience and the critics alike. Post ‘Zero’, there was conjecture that Shah Rukh would be next seen in Rakesh Sharma’s biopic but then the actor walked out of it. Now, the latest buzz suggests that SRK might be teaming up with Tamil film ‘Mersal’s director Atlee Kumar for his next.

Interestingly, the buzz started when Shah Rukh was seen with Atlee Kumar last night at the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Now, whether King Khan will be collaborating with Atlee for ‘Mersal'(2017) remake or for some other film, it’s not clear yet. All these rumours found a base in the tweets of South’s popular film journalists Kaushik LM and Ramesh Bala.

Whereas Bala seems to be quite confident regarding this collaboration. Check his tweet below:

However, amidst all this guesswork, a report in Deccan Chronicle states that SRK is not on board for any such collaboration.“No, it is not true. Maybe they are trying to remake the film but there is no SRK in it,” said a source to the daily.

For the uninitiated, ‘Mersal’ was an action-thriller starring South superstar Vijay in lead role. The film went on to become a huge hit and was liked by the fans and critics alike. We hope SRK soon announces his next film as we all are eager to know about it.
