Shah Rukh Khan revealed that the story of ‘JHMS’ was initially about a suicidal man

Until now, we have been teased with the mini trails, songs and the trailer of Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming romance drama ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. The movie which stars Shah Rukh Khan in the role of a tourist guide named Harinder Singh Nehra aka Harry is about his journey with Sejal (Anushka Sharma) who hires him as her tourist guide in Europe and thus their journey begins. But, you will be really surprised to discover that this wasn’t the original script planned by the director Imtiaz Ali.

So recently, in a media interaction with a popular news agency, SRK revealed that initially when Imtiaz approached him for the movie, the idea he had in mind was that of a man trying to commit suicide. But, SRK rejected it and instead asked him to rewrite it as a happy story and that’s how the story of ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ took shape. He further spoke about his director by saying, “I haven’t seen Imtiaz’s films, to be honest, but when I met him, I found him extremely gentle and sensitive. Amongst the people I had worked with earlier, it was the same quality that Yash ji, Adi, Karan (had). They are personally very different but also very sensitive. To me, it can’t be a person with a lesser level of sensitivity directing me in a love story. I find Imtiaz sensitive, dignified. These are not filmmaking qualities, these are personal qualities which translate into your films or acting.”

The movie is all set to release on August 4, 2017.
