Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2 Is In Development! Announcement Made In SRK’s Presence In Dubai- Watch

After a hiatus of nearly 5 years, Shah Rukh Khan made his much-awaited comeback as lead with the 2022 action-thriller Pathaan. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film was the fourth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe and went on to make and break box office records. Since its release, fans have been eagerly waiting for SRK to return as the titular RAW agent and now, there’s an update.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan 2 Officially Announced

During a real estate launch in Dubai – where a tower bearing Shah Rukh Khan’s name was unveiled, the project developer announced that Pathaan 2 was in development. A video from the launch soon went viral online with many fan accounts continuously circulating it. In the video, the developer is heard saying, “Koi blockbuster movie hoti hai toh uska ek sequel hota hai, am I right? Like ‘Pathaan’. ‘Pathaan 2’ aa rahi hai. Toh koi movie aap dekho, toh uska sequel hoga.” Watch the clip here:

The video quickly sent fans into a frenzy. Reacting to the clip, one fan wrote, “ALL TIME GROSSER & the HIGHEST GROSSER from the Spy Universe to get a SEQUEL. #Pathaan2 likely to start next year after the release of Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’.” Another commented, “And after the tsunami created by #Dhurandhar, expectations from every spy film are now SKY HIGH — Pathaan 2 is walking into MASSIVE hype already!” A third added, “Alpha mein post-credit scene SRK diya toh samajh lena ki Pathaan 2 confirm hai!”

During the same event, Shah Rukh Khan also reflected on his personal and professional milestones in recent time. Speaking about it, the actor said, “I have a bronze DDLJ statue in London, I’ve won a National Award, and now there’s a building in Dubai named after me. I’ve become someone my parents can look down on proudly from heaven. It’s a life-changing moment for me.”

As per industry reports, the upcoming sequel will go on floors next year and will be shot extensively in Chile. According to a Mid-Day report, discussions around filming in the country gained momentum during Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font’s recent visit to India. Filmmaker-actor Anshuman Jha, who was part of the meeting, shared, “There are concrete conversations of Pathaan 2 by Yash Raj Films and Lakadbaggha 3 being shot in Chile next year. I hope we help His Excellency’s vision of bringing the beauty of Chile to the world through our cinema.”
