shah rukh khan and karan johar

Last night, Shah Rukh Khan shot for the first episode of ‘Ted Talks India: Nayi Soch’ and guess who was the first guest on his show? His bestie-filmmaker Karan Johar. Yes, Karan shot for the first episode of the show and shared a picture on his social media page. Wearing a black suit and shoes by Prada, he looked quite dapper. Oh, and the square-shaped spectacles too! Sharing the picture, he wrote, “TED TALK thank you @iamsrk for always being so amazing! @starplus styled by @nikitajaisinghani @gucci and shoes by @prada.”

The show will be aired on Star Plus and will apparently have 14 episodes starring different speakers from different parts of the world. AR Rahman will also be amongst the guests to make an appearance on the show. The show will be mostly going on air in September. So just like how Shah Rukh Khan was the first guest on Karan Johar’s talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’, SRK thought who better than Karan to kickstart his new show.

Earlier, SRK has been a guest at the international version of the show. At the show, he had delivered an impactful speech. He had said, “At the age of 40, I had done 50 films and 200 songs. I was ready to do everything that life was throwing at me. I was confused but so was humanity. I sold everything from a hair oil to a transformer. And humanity bought everything from a transformer to a nuclear bomb. He further said, “My face is beginning to look like my Madam Tussaud’s wax statue. I often ask myself whether I should change my face. But then I looked back and learnt from my country that it was they who made this Muslim child of a broke freedom fighter, the king of romance and the Baadshah of Bollywood and chose me to sell dreams. Yes, with this face…. I learnt from the land I come from, that humanity, just like me, will only evolve once it embraces and practises love.” (Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan to have a double role in Aanand L Rai’s next?)

He finally said, “I want humanity to be an ageing movie star – a self-obsessed lover. Completely and apologetically in love with itself.”
