Shakti Shalini: Vishal Jethwa To Play Lead In Aneet Padda Led Horror Comedy- Report

It has been reported that Vishal Jethwa is likely to join Maddock Films’ upcoming universe project, Shakti Shalini, opposite actress Aneet Padda. According to sources, Jethwa will be playing the male lead alongside Padda, who is known for her role in Saiyaara. The film is expected to begin shooting next month and is slated for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026. Jethwa, who was recently appreciated for his performance in the film Homebound—which starred Janhvi Kapoor and Ishan Khatter and was India’s official entry to the 98th Oscars—will reportedly portray the love interest of the film’s female protagonist.

As reported by India Today, Shakti Shalini, a Maddock production with Aneet Padda as the lead, now features Vishal Jethwa as the male lead and her on-screen partner. The film is scheduled to start filming in March and is planned for release at the end of the year. Jethwa’s recent film Homebound garnered critical acclaim, and although it did not make it to the final Oscar nominations, it was widely praised.

Upcoming Maddock Horror Universe Films

The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe has an ambitious lineup. It includes Chamunda and Bhediya 2 set for release in 2027, followed by Stree 3 later that year. Further films planned for 2028 include Maha Munjya, Pehla Mahayudh, and Doosara Mahayudh. Prominent stars such as Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar, and Ayushmann Khurrana are part of this expanding cinematic universe. More actors are expected to join future projects.

Fans can look forward to a mix of horror, comedy, and thrilling entertainment—hallmarks of the Maddock brand. The franchise was initially scheduled for a 2025 release with Kiara Advani attached. The latest addition to the universe, Thamma, released on October 21, 2025, starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
